This folder contains some sample QuickTime music files. You can play these files using MoviePlayer.
In MoviePlayer you can also change the instruments that are used in each piece. To do this, select "Get Info" from the Movie menu." In the left pop-up select the music track. In the right pop-up select "Instruments". You will now see a list of all the instruments in the piece. Double click on an instrument to bring up a dialog that will let you change the instruments. To find out the manufacturer of any particular instrument, you can click the "About" button in the instrument picker dialog. All of the instruments built into QuickTime 2.5 are provided by Roland Corporation.
In MoviePlayer, you can convert these music movies to AIFF sound files. Converting these files to AIFF files results in very high quality software synthesis algorithms to be used, so that the resulting AIFF file will sound even better than when you simply play the music movie. To export the music movie to an AIFF file, select "Export…" from the File menu. In the pop up menu at the bottom of the Export dialog select "Music to AIFF". If you want to control the sample rate of the AIFF file, you can click the "Options" button in this dialog also. By default the exported AIFF file will be 44.1kHz audio, 16 bit, stereo.
In MoviePlayer, you can convert these music movies to Standard MIDI files. Standard MIDI files can be editing using any MIDI sequencing application. To export the music movie to an Standard MIDI file, select "Export…" from the File menu. In the pop up menu at the bottom of the Export dialog select "Music to Standard MIDI".
